All-day battery is not marketing on Apple silicon. A MacBook Air genuinely goes a full working day of ordinary work, and it does it without a fan.
The underrated part: a Mac runs at full performance on battery. Plenty of Windows laptops quietly throttle when unplugged, so the benchmark you read and the machine you use are different machines.

The gap has narrowed sharply. Efficient ARM chips and the current low-power x86 parts get respectable Windows laptops into all-day territory for light work.
Charging is universal now — any USB-C PD brick works, and you can carry one charger for your laptop, phone and headphones.
And a few machines still let you carry a second battery, which no Mac has allowed since 2012.
