How long can you ride the line?
Both sides throw popups. One on your side ends the run, so switch before it lands. Sparks score; close calls multiply.

A one-button arcade game. The rider climbs a line with the Mac side on the left and the Windows side on the right; popups appear on both sides, and one on your side ends the run. Press the left arrow or A for the Mac side, the right arrow or D for the Windows side, Space to switch, and P to pause. On a touch screen, tap the side you want to be on.

Dodge the popups
Every popup on your side is a crash. The one on the other side can't touch you — so the whole game is being on the right side of the line at the right moment.

Leave it late
Sparks score. Switching at the last moment is a close call, and close calls drive the multiplier to ×5. A bell rings each round, and everything gets faster.
Today's line
Everyone rides the same course on the same UTC day, like the other daily cards on the site. Ride it as often as you like: your best run of the day rides beside you as a ghost, and the gap to it sits under your score. Send a run and whoever opens the link races your ghost, on your course.
HouseBoth sides deal the popups.
Every pattern on the line picks its opening side with a coin flip. Over the first thousand daily lines, ten rounds of each, the popups split 49.91% Mac and 50.09% Windows — counted, not promised.
The Windows ones are funnier. That part is editorial.
A share link holds the course and the moment of every switch — when you pressed, and nothing else. The card it unfurls into is drawn by riding those switches again on the server, through the same rules the game runs in your browser, so a score cannot be edited into a link; only a different run can.
Your runs, your best and your streak live in this browser and nowhere else. Your record can forget them. Popups are drawn from each platform's published conventions rather than copied — no screenshots, no logos — and the products they name are named to refer to them.
